Please Remember That Real Love Is Worth Waiting For

The word “patient” as defined by Merriam-Webster Dictionary is “bearing pains or trials calmly or without complaint.” When it comes to personal relationships, patience is of the utmost importance in dealing with any conflict.

As humans, we each have our own set of beliefs, values, and perspectives towards life. That being said, it is to no one’s surprise that we are all prone to disagreeing with others on certain things. After all, we are entitled to our own opinions.

However, having the ability to be patient, to understand, and to even empathize with others’ is what makes any good relationship work. Relationships, especially romantic ones, are rooted in honesty, trust, communication, and most of all patience.

Regardless of your religious beliefs, you may be familiar with the bible verse that reads, “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud…” You’ve likely heard this being recited at a wedding ceremony. And that’s because the foundation of any marriage lies in the things mentioned in this verse.

When you love someone, you do not wish ill-will upon them. You do not seek out vengeance. You do not bear grudges. And most of all, you do not run away or leave when things get a little hard. If you do, then that is not love.

If you love someone, you respect them. You support them. You are there for them. You are in their corner, by their side, and are their shoulder to lean on. You are patient with them because you know that they are worth the wait.

And if they do not love you back, then as the saying goes, “If you love something, set it free. If it comes back, it’s yours. If it does not come back, it was never meant to be”

Whether you are currently in love, seeking love, or have lost love, you must remember to be patient.

You must be patient because all good things really do come in time. Remember that love does not come out of anger, resentment, or jealousy. It does not thrive through hostility, harshness, or malice. It is selfless, pure, and persevering. Remember that love is worth waiting for.
